The Ann B. Armstrong Colorado Plant Ecology Scholarship was endowed during the summer of 2006. (Read more.) This fund represents the generosity of a diverse group of family, friends, and colleagues.

The scholarship's first recipient is Susonna Klein, a Senior majoring in Horticulture from Greeley, Colorado.

A scholarship honoring Ann Armstrong’s life-long passion for Colorado native flora and ecology has been established at Colorado State University to inspire and inform the next generations of local naturalists and conservationists. Ann graduated with a degree in horticulture from CSU in 1966.

The The Ann B. Armstrong Colorado Plant Ecology Scholarship is administered by the School of Agricultural Sciences at Colorado State University. Recipients of the scholarship shall:

  • Be graduates of a Colorado high school (or GED equivalent) and/or a Colorado resident;
  • Intend to study in any major in the Department of Horticulture and Landscape Architecture with a focus in Colorado plant ecology;
  • Demonstrate the desire to pursue scholarly research in plant ecology or Colorado ecosystems, restoration ecology or propagation of native plants; organic agriculture; horticulture; and/or sustainable agriculture;
  • Be given preference if he/she demonstrates financial need;
  • Be in good academic standing.
